No Strings Web Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17045594), VAT no. GB515551602, trading as No Strings. We develop and operate adult dating platforms, including No Strings Men (nostringsmen.com) and related services.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit nostringswebltd.co.uk (this corporate website) and when you use our dating platforms. Where a product has its own detailed legal pages, those apply in addition to this policy for that product.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

No Strings Web Ltd is the data controller for processing described in this policy, unless we state otherwise. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@nostringswebltd.co.uk (see section 14).

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Information you provide — for example account registration details, profile information, messages, preferences, support enquiries, and media you upload on our platforms.
  • Information from sign-in providers — if you choose Facebook Login or another third-party sign-in option, we receive information from that provider as described in section 4.
  • Technical and usage information — device type, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, log data, and how you use our sites and apps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — as described in section 6.

Some information you provide on our dating platforms may be sensitive (for example details about your sexuality or health-related preferences). We only process this where necessary to provide the service, with appropriate safeguards, and in line with applicable law.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our websites and dating platforms;
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • Enable messaging, matching, and other platform features;
  • Keep our services safe — including fraud prevention, abuse detection, moderation, and compliance with law;
  • Process payments where applicable (via our payment processors — we do not store full card numbers on our servers);
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, or important service changes;
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Facebook Login

On our dating platforms you may be able to register or sign in using Facebook Login, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. If you use this option, Facebook handles your login on its side; we receive only the information Facebook shares with us according to the permissions you approve.

This typically may include:

  • Your Facebook user ID (used to link your account);
  • Name and email address (if you grant those permissions);
  • Profile picture URL (if available and permitted).

We use this information solely to create or access your account on our platform, maintain your session, and provide the service. We do not post to Facebook on your behalf unless you separately authorise that elsewhere.

Facebook Login is integrated through Firebase Authentication (Google). Data shared by Meta is processed under our instructions as part of your account on our systems. Meta’s own processing is governed by Meta’s policies — see Meta Privacy Policy and Meta Terms.

You can disconnect Facebook from your account where the platform offers linked sign-in management, or remove our app from your Facebook settings: Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites. You may also delete your account on our platform; see section 8.

5. Firebase and Google services

We use Google Firebase and related Google Cloud infrastructure to power core features of our platforms. Depending on the product and feature, this may include:

  • Firebase Authentication — email/password sign-in, Facebook Login, and other supported providers;
  • Cloud Firestore / Realtime Database — storing account and app data;
  • Cloud Storage — storing media you upload;
  • Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — optional, aggregate usage insights where you have consented on the relevant platform;
  • Cloud Functions and hosting — running backend logic and delivering the service securely.

Google acts as a processor (service provider) when providing Firebase on our behalf. Data may be processed in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or other countries where Google operates infrastructure, subject to appropriate safeguards (including standard contractual clauses where required).

On certain flows we also use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to reduce bots and abuse. When reCAPTCHA runs, Google may process technical signals and set cookies (such as _GRECAPTCHA) on Google’s domains. See section 6.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

6.1 This website (nostringswebltd.co.uk)

Our corporate site is largely informational. We may use strictly necessary cookies or similar storage required for security and basic operation. Third-party services we load (for example font or stylesheet CDNs) may set their own cookies under their policies; we do not control those.

6.2 Our dating platforms

On products such as No Strings Men, we use cookies and browser storage for:

  • Essential operation — keeping you signed in, securing your session, and protecting the service (for example server session cookies and stay-signed-in tokens where offered);
  • Firebase in the browser — localStorage, IndexedDB, or similar storage used by the Firebase SDK to maintain authentication state;
  • Security — Google reCAPTCHA cookies on Google’s domains when a protected step runs;
  • Optional preferences — remembering layout, theme, or similar choices where you enable that category;
  • Optional analytics — Firebase Analytics / GA4 only if you consent on that platform.

Where a product provides a cookie banner or settings page, your choices there control optional categories. You can also manage cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other core features from working.

7. Other third parties

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us run our business, such as payment processors, age-verification partners, content moderation providers (for example automated text analysis), email delivery, and infrastructure hosts. They process data only on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy.

We may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

8. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations (including record-keeping), resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. When you delete your account or content, we delete or anonymise data where practicable; some data may remain in backups or logs for a limited period where required for security or law.

9. Data security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and secure authentication. Platform data is hosted on Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure with security features appropriate to the service.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, or other mechanisms recognised under UK GDPR.

11. Your rights (UK / EEA)

Under UK GDPR and, where applicable, EU GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectify inaccurate data;
  • Erase your data in certain circumstances;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Data portability where applicable;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

To exercise these rights, email hello@nostringswebltd.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity. If your request relates to a specific platform account, contacting us from your registered email or via that platform’s signed-in support channels helps us respond faster.

12. Children

Our services are strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have received such data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the current version on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes to how we process data on our platforms may also be communicated via the relevant site or by email where appropriate.
